Church of Gouvix, a very nice example of Norman architecture of the 13th century.

This is the Lavoir where women of the village of Gouvix went and did their laundry....very romantic but it must have been cold and lots of hard work....

View of the little village of Gouvix, located between Caen and Falaise. It is situated in a little valley of the River Laize.....There is also a nice chateau, le Chateau d'Outrelaize, early 17th century or Henri IV style, surrounded by beautiful woods. It was a great place to go, as a child, to play hide and seek and gather berries or chestnuts...In the park surrounding the Chateau, there is a Menhir, called la Pierre Tourneresse.
